This used to be my friends car, and is still one of my very favourite cars I’ve ever driven. Now it’s getting thrashed by a new owner, who also has a glorious E12.

Definitely keep the cat if it has one, or replace it with a high-flow one. Or a resonator, but just a muffler is impressively loud, we couldn’t even talk in the car without yelling until he had the resonator put in

Eh... Do I really need a cat? I don’t have emissions testing. But yes, resonator is planned to be kept

It can keep down some of the lower tones that are just unpleasant in the cabin, but the resonator does a similar thing. No cat also means more rumbling and pops and crackles...one of the best parts of that e28

Yea the stock exhaust will pop on overrun sometimes. My only car to do that and it’s awesome. (Except for the Dakota when the exhaust fell off at the collector)
